2024 House of Delegates

All MAFP members are invited to attend our House of Delegates meeting to deliberate and vote on resolutions, which recommend the policies and direction of the MAFP.

Saturday, May 18, 2024

9:00 am - 12:00 pm

University of Minnesota Health Sciences Education Center (Minneapolis, MN) + online

The House of Delegates (HOD) is the policy-setting body of the Academy, meeting annually to inform and direct the work of the MAFP leadership and staff.

As a member, you can author resolutions that will not only guide the work of the Academy in Minnesota but also raise awareness of issues of importance to family medicine. Participate in the policy-setting of the Academy and be a change agent for your patients, your colleagues and our specialty.

Author/co-author a resolution (by April 21)

Resolutions are written motions that recommend policy and/or direction for the MAFP. You can author a resolution by yourself or collaborate with colleagues. Submit a resolution.

Attend a chapter meeting and collaborate on resolution writing (March 20)

An online all-chapter meeting is offered on March 20 to provide more opportunities for member engagement and collaboration on resolutions. All members are welcome to participate in the meeting. See meeting details and register.

What are chapters? Within our own Minnesota chapter, we have several local chapters, which group together physicians in the same regions/areas of the state to work on policies/issues of concern to specific communities.

Submit written commentary on resolutions (April 26 – May 5)

All MAFP members may provide written comments on any resolution via our House of Delegates online portal during the open comment period. Comments will be shared with the reference committee and utilized to make recommendations for action to the full House of Delegates at the May 18 meeting (prior to voting).

Having trouble commenting? Contact us at office@mafp.org and/or 952-542-0130.

Attend the House of Delegates meeting (May 18, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm)

At the meeting, members will vote on resolutions, which will set the policies and direction of the MAFP (with time for deliberation).

Two options to attend: online via Zoom or in person in Minneapolis. All participants (whether online or in person) will have equal opportunity to speak. The meeting and discussion of resolutions is open to all members.

No cost to attend.

Hybrid format: Members may participate in person or online.

Meeting materials/voting: All participants (online or in person) will have access to meeting materials and be able to vote on resolutions through our House of Delegates online portal.
