Physicians Needed: Research on Safe Firearm Storage Counseling

In collaboration with the University of Minnesota, the Minnesota Medical Association (MMA) is conducting an interview study with physicians who have talked with patients about safe firearm storage.

Promoting safe firearm storage is crucial for firearm safety. The goal is to learn from physicians who have already done firearm safety counseling with patients to help create tools and guidelines for other physicians who do not know how to approach such counseling and what to expect.

Who is eligible to participate?

Practicing physicians in Minnesota who have had conversations with patients about safe gun storage.

What will I be asked to do?

Participate in a one-time, 30-45 minute interview about your experience with counseling patients on gun safety.
