2025 AAFP Family Medicine Advocacy Summit (FMAS)
Sunday - Tuesday, June 22-24, 2025
Washington, DC
The Family Medicine Advocacy Summit (FMAS) is an annual opportunity for American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) members to gather in the Nation’s Capital for advocacy training on family medicine’s legislative priority areas and directly meet with lawmakers to be a voice for family medicine.
The Minnesota Academy of Family Physicians (MAFP) has funding to reimburse up to $1,800 for attending FMAS (registration, travel, lodging and meals) for eight medical students or family medicine residents—one from each of Minnesota’s Congressional districts. (If applications haven’t been received from each of the districts by the deadline, the MAFP will consider multiple applicants from the same district in order of date received.)
- Reimbursement limit: $1,800
- Deadline to apply: February 28, 2025
Who is eligible for reimbursement?
Minnesota family medicine residents and medical students who are interested in family medicine. Must be a member of the MAFP at the time of the Summit. Not a member yet? Join today.
How does the reimbursement work?
- Applications for reimbursement must be submitted in advance.
- Approved applicants will be notified by email after the application deadline and receive additional information about the reimbursement process and requirements.
- Reimbursements will be made after FMAS to approved applicants who meet the reimbursement requirements.
Financial support to attend FMAS (registration, travel and lodging) is also available from the AAFP. Minnesota residents and medical students may apply for financial support from both the MAFP and AAFP but can only receive funding from one or the other (not both). AAFP applications are due by February 14, 2025.
