Driving the Work of the Academy

Resolutions are one of the main vehicles to drive action at the MAFP. In recent years, the number of resolutions submitted by MAFP members has increased dramatically.

Members are voicing their passions and concerns and asking the MAFP to get involved on issues that are important to family medicine and our patients. Resolutions have directed the MAFP to start a Health Equity Taskforce and a Workforce Taskforce as well as to get more involved in a variety of public health issues, including gun violence prevention and the opioid crisis.

Members have also challenged the MAFP to think about payment reform, access to care and the experiences of our rural physician members.
