Children’s Minnesota is the seventh largest pediatric health system in the United States and the only health system in Minnesota to provide care exclusively to children, from before birth through young adulthood. An independent and not-for-profit system since 1924, Children’s Minnesota serves kids throughout the Upper Midwest at two free-standing hospitals, 12 primary and specialty care clinics and six rehabilitation sites. Additionally, Children’s Minnesota is Minnesota’s only Level I pediatric trauma center inside a hospital dedicated solely to children. Also, verified as a Level I Children’s Surgery Center in 2018.

The Child and Teen Checkups (C&TC) Program is Minnesota’s Early Periodic Screening, Diagnosis and Treatment (EPSDT) program. County and Tribal programs provide assistance to clinic providers and to families with children age 0-20 years enrolled in Medical Assistance. The C&TC staff offer annual face to face meetings with medical clinics to review and provide resources to accomplish the required components of a Child and Teen Checkup. The Hennepin County C&TC program assists families by helping to find a primary care clinic, making appointments, assisting with transportation to appointments, and arranging interpreters for appointments.
