Our group KSA (formerly SAM) sessions help you complete the 60-question Knowledge Self-Assessment to meet your ABFM Certification Self-Assessment Activities requirement.

What to Expect

  • Review 60 core competency questions with an experienced facilitator and content expert, and decide the best answer with your colleagues.
  • The AAFP will report your answers directly to the ABFM on your behalf. If you have questions about ABFM certification, please contact the ABFM.

Pricing (Administrative Fee)

  • AAFP/MAFP members: $150
  • Residents: complimentary

(Fees paid to the MAFP do not include the ABFM Continuous Certification fees.)

Continuing Medical Education (CME) Credits

A completed KSA will provide 10 certification points and 8 live CME credits toward ABFM certification requirements. Application for 8 live Prescribed credits is filed with the American Academy of Family Physicians for each KSA.

American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM)

If this is your first step in the Family Medicine Certification Process, contact the ABFM at 877-223-7437 to obtain your ABFM ID. If you have questions about how many Family Medicine Certification activities are required for you at this time and/or when you need to complete them, the ABFM can assist you.

The ABFM charges a Certification Process Fee; the amount varies depending on your re-election cycle. This fee is in addition to the cost to participate in the session. You do not need to pay the Certification Process Fee in advance to earn credit for participation in the program.

Mental Health in the Community: ABFM Knowledge Self-Assessment

Saturday, March 28, 2020 | 7:00 am | The Depot Minneapolis

Earn 8 Prescribed CME credits toward your ABFM Certification Self-Assessment Activities requirement in this group learning experience facilitated by experienced family physician Elizabeth Cozine, MD, and content experts Patricia Dickmann, MD, and Erica Dimitropoulos, PharmD. Up to five hours are allotted to complete the module; breakfast is included.

Application for live continuing medical education (CME) credit will be filed with the American Academy of Family Physicians.
