Innovation & Research Project Submissions Due January 26, 2018

Project Guidelines

  • Innovation in family medicine and original research
  • Community and participatory projects, descriptive studies, quality improvement initiative
  • Clinical case studies and literature reviews with unique conclusions
  • Who should submit: medical students, residents, researchers, physicians, psychologists and other innovators and researchers in family medicine

Present your project in one of two ways: with a PowerPoint presentation at the podium OR as a poster.

Podium Presentations
Each presenter has 20 minutes including Q & A. You can send your slides to by February 28 or bring them on a USB drive to the Forum. The time to load your slides onto the conference center laptops on Saturday, March 3 is 8:00 - 8:30 am.

Poster setup will be from 8:00 – 8:30 am on Saturday, March 3.  Poster size can be up to 91” wide x 45” high. T-pins will be provided to secure the posters to the flannel boards.  DO NOT MOUNT YOUR POSTER ON FOAM BOARD.  The poster session is from 1:05 - 2:05 pm.

Do the projects need to be complete?
On March 3, 2018, you should be ready to talk about the final data or outcomes of your project. If your project is not complete, you can take part in the poster session to get feedback on your idea or in-progress project.

Notice - The online form will time out in approximately 45 minutes.  We recommend reviewing the submission requirements and creating your responses in a word document first and then pasting them into the form.

You will be asked for:
•    SHORT project title
•    Name of presenter, phone number & email address
•    Names of others who partnered on the project
•    If you are a student, who was your mentor?
•    What did you do and why was it important?
•    How did you do it?
•    What did you learn?
•    What’s next?
•    IRB (yes or no if applicable)
•    HIPAA (yes or no if applicable)
•    Funding sources

All presenters must register for the Forum.  There is no charge for residents or students to register.
