David Bucher, MD, FAAFP Installed as 2017-2018 MAFP President

The MAFP installed David Bucher, MD, FAAFP as the 2017 MAFP President at the Annual Meeting on April 20, 2017.

As President of the Academy, Dr. Bucher will be the official representative and spokesperson for the MAFP in addition to serving as a member of the Board of Directors and attending meetings at the national level.

Dr. Bucher was nominated as president-elect at the 2016 Annual Meeting and has been an active member for the MAFP for more than 30 years. Since 2013 he has served as President of the regional East Metro chapter which is comprised of 613 family physicians who work in Ramsey, Washington and Dakota Counties.

The Minnesota Academy of Family Physicians (MAFP) is a professional association of approximately 3,100 family physicians, family medicine residents and medical students established to assist family physicians in providing quality medical care in Minnesota.

The MAFP is the largest medical specialty organization in Minnesota and is a state chapter of the American Academy of Family Physicians, which represents 129,000 family physicians nationwide.

Dr. Bucher is a graduate of University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and completed his residency at Baptist Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. He currently practices at United Family Medicine in St. Paul and resides with his partner of 18 years in the Prospect Park neighborhood of Minneapolis.
