Maria Huntley

Maria Huntley, CAE, MAM
Executive Vice President

Maria works with the MAFP Board of Directors to fulfill the mission of the MAFP: to support family physician health care delivery through innovation, research, and education and to promote the specialty of family medicine in the state of Minnesota. She also serves as the Executive Director of the MAFP Foundation, the charitable arm of the MAFP. Maria earned a Master’s Degree in Nonprofit Management from Hamline University and is a graduate of the University of Minnesota-Duluth. She was designated a Certified Association Executive (CAE) in 2010. Email Maria

Lynn Balfour

Lynn Balfour, MBA
Deputy Executive Vice President

Lynn is responsible for oversight of MAFP signature events and programs that support members in their practice of medicine, development and execution of the Supporting Partners Program and carrying forward the philanthropic mission of the organization, including the MAFP Foundation’s programs for family medicine resident and medical student members and fundraising for those programs. She assumed this position in 2015 following six years with the Academy as Executive Director of the MAFP Foundation from 2007 to 2013. Lynn earned an MBA from Metropolitan State University and is a graduate of the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. Email Lynn

Renee McGivern

Renee McGivern
Marketing and Communications Director

Renee plans, writes and edits content for the MAFP website and social media accounts, NewsNow e-newsletter and Minnesota Family Medicine magazine. She also develops media relations in support of MAFP’s strategic and advocacy goals. She has a B.A. in Journalism from the University of St. Thomas and a Master’s Degree in Education from Capella University. She was Executive Director of the Minnesota Newspaper Foundation before starting her own consulting firm, Spark Plug Consulting. Email Renee

Jami Burbidge

Jami Burbidge
Advocacy Director

Jami supports the development of MAFP’s many physician advocates. She identifies opportunities for family physicians to have an active voice in the issues that face them and their patients and develops tools and programs to support those efforts. Jami is a graduate of the College of St. Benedict and earned a Master’s Degree in Nonprofit Management from Hamline University. She has a long history working in organized medicine at the state and national level. Email Jami

Lisa Regehr

Lisa Regehr
Director of Resident & Medical Student Initiatives and Continuing Medical Education Accreditation

Lisa directs programming and leadership development for the MAFP’s medical students and residents, manages Continuing Medical Education (CME) accreditation, and Research & Quality Improvement projects. She is a graduate of St. Cloud State University. Email Lisa

Kendra Myers

Kendra Myers
Executive Administration and Process Support

Kendra manages MAFP office operations and provides process development and support to each team member so they succeed. She has worked with professional associations for more than 15 years and has experience in nearly every aspect of association management. She is a graduate of Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. Email Kendra

Lisa Larson

Lisa Larson
Meeting Planner

Lisa oversees the management and development of the MAFP Spring Refresher and Summer Conference. She has been planning events in the nonprofit sector for more than 15 years. Lisa earned a Master’s Degree in International Nonprofit Management from the University of Denver and is a graduate from the University of North Dakota. Email Lisa
